I'm John Serrano, the owner of Oakland Heating & Cooling. I started my journey in the HVAC industry in 1995, spending years learning the trade, perfecting my skills, and building the foundation that would eventually become what Oakland Heating & Cooling is today.
I launched my company, J.R.S. Mechanical, Inc., and established Oakland Heating & Cooling in 2000. Since then, I've helped homeowners and businesses throughout Oakland County solve problems with their furnaces, air conditioners, indoor air quality, and overall comfort.
My goal is not simply to sell you a furnace or air conditioner. I want to help you understand what is happening inside your home, what your real options are, and which solution makes the most sense for your comfort, budget, and long-term needs.
I believe homeowners deserve clear and honest information before making an expensive decision about their heating and cooling system. When I evaluate a system, I want you to understand:

Oakland Heating & Cooling is a locally owned Michigan heating and cooling company operated through J.R.S. Mechanical, Inc. We serve Oxford, Lake Orion, Clarkston, and surrounding communities throughout Oakland County.
We provide residential and commercial heating, air conditioning, indoor air quality, water heater, ductless, repair, replacement, and maintenance services.
Our focus is on honest recommendations, quality workmanship, clear communication, and helping customers make informed decisions without unnecessary pressure. We are also a Rheem dealer, and we help homeowners compare repair options, replacement systems, efficiency levels, warranties, and long-term operating costs.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, working on projects around the house, and attending Michigan sporting events. I've always enjoyed staying busy, solving problems, and working with my hands. Those are some of the same things that originally drew me to the heating and cooling industry.
Being part of the local community is also important to me. Oakland Heating & Cooling is not a large national company. We live and work in the same communities as our customers, and I take pride in building relationships with the people we serve.
I want every customer to feel comfortable asking questions. You should never feel embarrassed because you do not understand how your furnace or air conditioner works. Most homeowners are not HVAC experts, and they should not be expected to become one overnight.
I will do my best to explain the problem in straightforward terms, show you the available options, and help you understand the advantages and disadvantages of each one. The final decision is always yours.
