You fill out a short Wisetack form, see your options and pick a plan before any work is scheduled. A lot of people find out what a new system costs and then spend a week doing math at the kitchen table. You do not have to wait for a quote to see what you qualify for.
Fill out a short form. It takes about a minute and asks for basic information, not a pile of documents.
If you are approved you get several choices with different term lengths and monthly payments. Pick the one that fits your budget.
Once you choose a plan and approve the job, we schedule the install. Funds go to us so you are not fronting anything.
Furnaces, air conditioners, ductless systems, water heaters, ductwork, air quality equipment and large repairs, as long as the job is at least $500. Financing is not only for full system replacements.
A new high efficiency furnace, including removal of the old unit, venting and startup.
New condenser and coil, line set work, and the electrical and pad work that goes with it.
Furnace and AC together. Usually the best value per dollar since the labor overlaps.
Mini split systems for additions, bonus rooms and spaces the main system does not reach.
Tank and tankless. These tend to fail with no warning, which is exactly when financing helps most.
Compressor failures, heat exchanger cracks and other repairs that land well above a normal service call.
Repairs, sealing, added returns and runs to rooms that never get comfortable.
Whole home humidifiers, air cleaners and ventilation added at the time of install.
At 9.9% APR over 60 months, financing $8,000 costs about $170 a month and $16,000 about $339. Your payment depends on the amount, the term you pick (3 to 120 months) and the rate you qualify for (0% to 35.9% APR). Home service work is covered from $500 up to $65,000. The table below uses 60 months at 9.9% APR, the rate Wisetack uses in its own example, which you can read in the disclosure at the bottom of this page.
Example only · 60 months at 9.9% APR
| Amount financed | Example monthly payment | Typical job |
|---|---|---|
| $5,500 | $117 | Smaller AC replacement |
| $8,000 | $170 | Furnace replacement |
| $12,000 | $254 | Higher end AC replacement |
| $16,000 | $339 | Furnace and AC together |
| $20,000 | $424 | High efficiency complete system |
These are examples, not offers. Your rate, term and payment depend on the amount requested and your credit. Shorter terms mean higher payments and less interest paid overall. Typical job amounts come from the ranges on our price page. Lender terms checked September 2026. Not sure which row you are in? Get a price on your system first, then check your options.
No. Seeing your Wisetack options runs a soft credit check, which does not affect your score. This is the part a lot of people get wrong, and it is the reason many homeowners never look at their options at all.
We would rather tell you this straight than talk you into a payment you regret. Financing is a tool. It is right in some situations and wrong in others.
Your system already failed and you are without heat or cooling. When your furnace dies in January, the choice is not really between financing and paying cash. It is between financing and being cold while you save up.
You are choosing between a cheap fix and the right one. A lot of homeowners take the smaller repair because it is what they can pay for today, then spend that money again eighteen months later. Spreading the better option over a term is often cheaper across three years than repairing the same unit twice.
Paying cash would drain your emergency savings. If the only money you have for this is the money set aside for a job loss or a hospital bill, keep it there. Financing the system protects that cushion.
Your system still works and is just getting older. Age alone is not a reason to replace it. If your furnace keeps the house warm, a technician has checked it and found no safety problems, and the repairs so far have been small, a tune up is a better use of your money than a new system on payments. If that is what we find when we come out, we will say so instead of quoting you a replacement.
You have time and you have been saving for it. If your system is still running but a technician has told you it is near the end of its life, you may have a year or two to plan. In that case, paying cash from money you set aside is usually cheaper. At the example rate used on this page, financing a $12,000 system over 60 months at 9.9% APR is about $254 a month, or roughly $15,260 in total. That is about $3,260 in interest. Unless you qualify for a 0% offer, saving up is worth it when you have the time. The risk is waiting too long. If the furnace is already struggling, one more Michigan winter can mean replacing it in January in a hurry, with less time to compare options.
The payment only fits if nothing else goes wrong. Before you sign, put the monthly number next to your real budget. If it only works in a month with no car repair, no medical bill and no slow week at work, it is too tight. Ask us about a smaller job instead, like repairing the unit you have or choosing a lower priced model.
Worth knowing
The federal 25C tax credit that used to cover part of a high efficiency HVAC install expired for equipment placed in service after December 31, 2025. If you read an older article promising a $2,000 credit on a heat pump, that is why the numbers do not match. Ask us what current utility rebates apply to your specific equipment.
We are based at 697 S Lapeer Rd, Suite B, in Oxford and have worked on homes across Oakland County since 2000. Financing works the same whether you live in Oxford, Lake Orion, Clarkston or anywhere else we serve in the county.
A furnace here does not fail on a mild afternoon. It fails on the coldest night of the year, when it is working hardest. That is usually when homeowners in Oakland County first go looking for HVAC financing, usually with a quote they did not plan for. Checking your options ahead of time, before anything breaks, means that night is a phone call instead of a scramble.
Oakland Heating & Cooling holds Michigan Mechanical Contractor License #7113537 and is insured. Financing is arranged through the lender, but the install is done by our own licensed technicians.
One short form, about a minute, no effect on your credit score. You will know your rate, your term choices and what the monthly payment could look like before you ever schedule a visit.
Possibly. Offers range from 0% to 35.9% APR based on the amount you request and your credit, so a lower score usually means a higher rate rather than an automatic no. The lender makes the decision, not us, and checking uses a soft credit check, so finding out costs you nothing.
No. Checking your Wisetack financing options through Oakland Heating & Cooling is a soft credit pull and does not affect your score. Accepting an offer and moving forward with a loan can affect your credit, the same as any other loan.
Oakland Heating & Cooling customers can finance home service work from $500 up to $65,000 through Wisetack, with the amount you are approved for based on your credit. A complete furnace and air conditioner replacement fits inside that range with room to spare.
The form takes about a minute and you see your options right away. There is no waiting period, no paperwork packet and no trip to a bank.
Yes. There are no prepayment fees and no compounding interest, so paying it off early reduces what you pay in total.
No. There are no origination fees, no prepaid finance charges, no participation fees and no late fees. Your offer shows the rate, term and monthly payment before you accept anything.
Yes. Knowing your comfortable monthly number first means the conversation about equipment is about what fits your home and your budget, instead of a price reveal at the end. If you do not know what the job costs yet, our HVAC price calculator gives you a ballpark in about the same amount of time, and you can use that number on the financing form.
Call us anyway at 248-953-1385. There is almost always a version of the job that solves the immediate problem for less, whether that is a repair that buys you a season or a lower priced model. We would rather get your heat back on than turn you away.
Both, as long as the job is at least $500. Large repairs like a failed compressor or a cracked heat exchanger are common reasons homeowners here use financing.
